About Felinhouse
An independent educational resource about cat health.
Felinhouse is a small, independent website that explains common feline infectious diseases and everyday cat care in plain English. It exists because owners facing a diagnosis such as FIV or FeLV often find information that is frightening, out of date, or hard to follow.
What we aim to do
- Explain what is known, and what is still uncertain, in plain language.
- Base every page on published veterinary guidance, and link the original sources so you can check them.
- Say so when veterinary bodies or countries disagree.
- Encourage owners to speak to their veterinarian, and to care for cats with chronic infections responsibly.
What we do not do
- We do not diagnose, prescribe or give individual advice. Nothing here replaces an examination by a qualified veterinarian.
- We do not sell products, show advertising, or use analytics or tracking. The site is made of plain static pages and uses no scripts, cookies or third-party resources.
- We do not take enquiries through the site, and there is no contact form.
Accuracy and updates
Each page states the month it was last reviewed and lists its sources. Veterinary guidelines are revised over time, and recommendations differ between countries, so please check the current position with your vet. The guidance summarised here draws on sources such as the American Association of Feline Practitioners, the American Animal Hospital Association, the World Small Animal Veterinary Association, the European Advisory Board on Cat Diseases, International Cat Care and the Cornell Feline Health Center. These organisations are not affiliated with this site and have not endorsed it.
